Components of Conventional Lightning Arrestor system:

Lightning Rod (Interception system): Is a metal rod made of Copper, GI, & SS, which is mounted on top of a building for discharge of lightning current from cloud.

Down Conductor (Arrester): Is a material which contains movable electric charges. In metallic conductors such as copper or aluminum, GI the movable charged particles are electrons & it's help to make fast discharge of Lightning energy. Connected between Lightning rod & earth pit for making a discharge path.

Earthing: In Lightning discharge, a chemical earthing (grounding) system defines the electrical potential of the conductors relative to that of the Earth's conductive surface. Lightning protection systems are special grounding systems designed to safely conduct the extremely high voltage currents associated with lightning strikes.

As a result of the analysis, the radius of the lightning rod coverage is 79m inareas with risk level 1, which can increase up to 107m in an area with risk level 3.
